FULL ARTWORK

In the early 70's Carmen released 3 albums, with "Fandangos In Space" being the first - and probably the best. Producer Tony Visconti did an excellent job on this album as well as the second release "Dancing On A Cold Wind." The line-up was fronted by David Clark Allen (guitar/vocals), his sister Angela Allen (vocals, footwork/keyboards), Roberto Amaral (vocals/footwork/keyboards) - all Americans) - supported by an excellent British rhythm section featuring the late John Glascock on bass/vocals and Paul Fenton on drums.

Combining flamenco guitar, latin rhythms, progressive rock etc. they came out sounding entirely different compared to contemporary rock music at the time. It still sounds perfect all around.
The tight rhythm section works perfectly behind David Allens flamenco & electric guitar playing and to top it off you've got the fantastic footwork of Angela Allen and Roberto Amaral still sounding vibrant and very much alive! The song cycle is not exactly a concept album, but something very similar.

These days you can hear world music and latin rhythms on the radio all day long, but it's nice knowing that someone else did the groundbreaking work more than 30 years ago - and were really good at it.
